Laughing Goat Fiber

On 50 acres in the town of Ithaca is this magical place where goats and alpaca scamper about. If you’re driving on Rte. 79 between Watkins Glen and Ithaca you might notice it. It all began because Lisa wanted to grow her own fibers, and goats being the (affordable) cute and friendly creatures they are Lisa got herself a few friendly Angora goats. She has since expanded to raising cashmere goat and Haucaya Alpaca’s as well. Not only does Lisa produce her own hand-dyed yarns she also sells handmade and hand-dyed end-use products such as socks, mittens, gloves, shawls, blankets, rugs and many other items. Laughing Goat uses small, family-owned, regional mills to make their yarns and knit many of the finished goods.
