Creating Value-added Products from Your Fiber

There are so many routes one could take to turn your fiber into value-added products. From minimal processing of raw fleece for handspinners to having blankets or other higher valued end-products made that can potentially reach a wider market. Each of the routes takes knowledge, coordination, and a little bit of patience (okay a lot of patience).

We’ve compiled a list of processors from shearers to knitters and weavers. Some of these processors (manufacturers) do double duty (i.e. spin and scour). To help you find what you are looking for we attached websites for you to go and find out more from each of these businesses.

Good luck, we know just how hard you work to navigate the fiber supply chain. Here is hoping this map will make your life just a little bit easier.

(To navigate based on the type of processing click on the menu icon in the upper right corner of the map screen)

Are we missing a processor/manufacturer that you know of? Please let us know.

(We are at work on compiling a more comprehensive database of processors etc… So stay tuned, in the meantime we wanted to be able to share what we do have).
