Tunis

A Presidential breed, the American Tunis (or simply Tunis) were raised by at least a few of our early forefathers including George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson. The Tunis breed was introduced to the Americas in 1799 as a gift to the US government from North Africa.

This beautiful creamy white fleece, with even crimp and a touch of luster, is versatile l for the spinner, knitter, crocheter, and weaver. Staple lengths average from 3.5 – 5 inches (9-12.5cm) and 24-29 microns. Fleece weight is typically 8-12 lbs (3.6 – 5.4 kg).
