Hog Island Sheep

Hog Island is a small barrier island off the coast of Virginia. Early settlers brought sheep to this island that were then left there when the island was abandoned. The Hog Island Breed is a result of centuries of isolation from the mainland, and only a limited number of these sheep remain. Being such a small number the traits are hard to generalize other than the fleece tends to be of medium grade with colors from beige & grays to black.
