Lincoln Longwool Sheep

The Lincoln Longwool Sheep breed, as we currently know it, was first produced in the late 1700s in Lincolnshire England. The fiber of these well-sized ruminants is distinct. Known for it’s long, heavy, spiraled locks the fiber is valued by spinners for the production of smooth, strong, textured yarns. Fiber artists use Lincoln Longwool to produce hard wearing, yet attractive, fabrics.
