“What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open.” -poet Muriel Rukeyser (1913-1980)

“I’ve always had a fascination with the needle, the magic power of the needle. The needle is used to repair the damage. It’s a claim to forgiveness. It is never aggressive; it’s not a pin.” – artist Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010)

Do you begin embroidery projects and then put them down? Have you always dreamed about writing about your most meaningful experiences, but have never made the time? In either case, have you gotten stuck or frustrated, and abandoned the work?  In this three day intensive stitching and writing workshop, we will cover the nuts and bolts of creative hand-stitching AND creative non-fiction. In addition to daily hands-on prompts, we will be inspired by the work of some of the best women writers and artists of the last centuries. Open to beginners as well as more experienced stitchers.
