Fiber farmers and artisans from around the area will have lovely local products on offer including handspun and mill spun yarn, whole fleeces, spinning fibers/roving, hand dyed yarn and fiber, knitted and felted items, woven items, clothing and other finished items. With the 2022 spring shearing, everyone has fresh fiber and products available! We will also have some very special guests including alpaca, baby angora goats, sheep, fiber demonstrations, musical guests and more!
Come meet your local fiber farmers and learn where local fiber comes from and how to work with it. Join the movement to rebuild this valuable, local, renewable resource. Many of the participating vendors also participated in the wildly successful LocalFiber Holiday Pop-Up Shop that operated in Nov/Dec 2021 on Seneca Street in Ithaca.
LocalFiber was created for the purpose of bringing together the diverse community of small-flock fiber producers and fiber artists of the Finger Lakes Region with the specific goals of strengthening the community, sharing knowledge, and educating the public about locally sourced fiber. LocalFiber hosts sales, marketing and networking opportunities, and connects fiber farmers and producers in the Finger Lakes and Central New York State area to each other and to new markets. Collaboratively, we are working to rebuild a vibrant, ethical, sustainable regional fiber and textile economy.
